民主主義は、草の根の市民一人一人の良心への疼きが原動力となって創り上げられる。これまでの幾度かの国連での拒否権行使にもかかわらず、米国の良心の核心に、このような市民層が生き続けている限り、米国の民主的総意が政府を動かし 、パレスチナの自由と平和への力となることを信じたい。
